Case:
What is ‘Gerrymandering’?
It’s what politicians use to gain power by selectively redrawing congressional voting districts.
Both parties use it to steal votes and win elections. And... it’s gotten ugly.
So to make an invisible problem visible we created Ugly Gerry.
Taking real ugly gerrymandered voting districts and turning it into a font.
The districts were rotated and scaled but shapes were not altered in anyway.
New York District 8
California District 43
Oregon District 5
UGLYGERRY.COM
The website not only allowed users to use Ugly Gerry to tweet at their congress (because tweeting is the new ‘letter to congress’ now days) it
used geolocation to detect which district users were in and automatically tagged the politicians in power.
Genius UX I must say ;)
